Hi there! Thanks for stopping by!
I’m Tamara! Full time daydreamer, mama to three ladies, and a creator at my core. I am most content at home, making.
Living a simple, slow, intentional lifestyle has proven to heal, nourish and sustain my family. I’m on a mission to share without the overwhelm, the benefits of creating for your home, yourself, friends and family.
Cottonroots started as a hobby to fulfill my ever growing obsession with blankets and quickly grew into a mission to share my discovery of healing through making.
I believe, no, I KNOW creating, or crafting, or making, or whatever it is you refer to it as has therapeutic aspects… Using your hands to render “something” has science backed research (first blog post) indicating that it’s pretty much an amazing way to release feel good endorphins. How’s that for scientific wording?!?!
For me? Sewing and punching (cloth, not people) spares me of crippling health anxiety.
My objective? To spread the word!
How? By providing encouragement, inspiration and education.
Where? Right here in my tiny nook of the internet.
This “nook” will be a space that connects or reconnects a passion for making, a feeling of Hygge (definition below) and a sense of community.
* HYGGE is my favorite state of being. It’s a mood of cozy and warmth; the same feeling I hope you get every time you create.
Again, I am so glad that you’re here! If you have any questions or just want to say “HI”, please do! I would love to hear from you…
